Hi, I’m Maik.

I’m a passionate self-taught filmmaker from Germany. I discovered my love for film and photography in 2018 when I first held a reflex camera in my hands. The colors and image quality completely blew me away. I knew right then and there that I wanted to pursue a career involving cameras. At that time, I had just begun my studies in business administration. I had no idea how I could turn my passion for cameras into a livelihood, nor did I know where to begin. However, what I was certain about was my desire to master everything about cameras and how to wield these tools to create art.

Over the next three years, I dedicated myself to honing my skills in both photography and videography. I managed to secure a few shoots for my initial clients. Upon completing my studies at the end of 2021, I took a leap of faith and transitioned to full-time freelancing. Throughout my first year as a freelancer, I consistently collaborated with various brands. I handled the production, shooting, and editing mostly as a one-man show. This journey allowed me to grasp the different facets of film production.

Then, towards the end of 2022, I gained invaluable experience working on a major film set. I was privileged to spend three weeks on a feature film set as a 1st Assistant Camera (1 AC). This experience shed light on the complexity of each role within the film industry. It was an enlightening moment that prompted me to forge connections with directors and film production companies.

I’m elated to be surrounded by such talented individuals and to have the opportunity to collaborate with them on various projects, resulting in the creation of something truly remarkable.
